Packing Checklist
Everyone hates packing. Except me. I love it. I'm good at it. I pretty much have it down to a science. If you travel frequently, it's a good idea to have things set aside that is for traveling so you can just pack that together instead of running around gathering things.
Here is my checklist of things to pack:
- Passport - check the expiration date
- Toiletries - must be <100 ml or 3oz to be in your carry on
- Hat
- Umbrella
- Slippers - some hotels will provide this but I always bring a pair in case. If you walk barefoot in your hotel room, you're crazy
- Laundry bag - it's a good idea to keep your clean and dirty clothes separate in your suitcase
- Charger - even if all your devices use the same charger, I would bring multiple ones so you can charge everything at once
- Travel Adapters - you can buy a universal one so you don't have different adapters for different countries
- Water bottle - most airports and hotels have a water station that you can fill up
- Tote - I always carry a reusable tote that I can whip out if I buy things. This is environmentally friendly and some places will charge you for plastic bags.
- Reusable utensils - This is also environmentally friendly but also helpful when you buy food back to eat the hotel and they forget to give you utensils
- Medications - read my health tips blog for more info
- Antibacterial hand wipes or hand sanitizer
- Tissue - you will need more tissue than you think
- Gum/mint - your traveling companions will appreciate this
Extra things to consider:
- Masks - I always bring masks with me. If someone is coughing next to you on the plane or train, you can always wear one
- Handheld fan - this is a lifesaver if you go someone hot and humid
- Portable charger - If your phone battery isn't great, consider a portable charger, especially if you use your phone for pictures and navigation which uses more battery
- AirPods or any other headphones - My AirPods do double duty. I have the AirPods Pro and it has excellent noise cancelling. I use it to block out noise to sleep on the plane.
*This list is for adults. If you have children, that will be a separate list.

I like to bring a few Korean sheet masks to relax/recharge after a long travel day (mini spa day in your hotel room). A small cedar block to keep my bag smelling fresh. Laundry detergent sheets for handwashing in the hotel sink. Solid (waterless versions) to keep my 311 bag to a minimum - shampoo/ conditioner, body lotion, face serum, mouth wash tablets, toothpaste tablets, sunscreen, etc
